Birthday Party!

About a month ago I asked Lindsay what she wanted for her birthday, her only response was party, the names of all of her friends, and cake. So a birthday party is what she got. We sent invitations to her friends, found games to play, and cute prizes to give. Her birthday cake HAD to be purple and HAD to be pink, after she found some sprinkles she liked she decided green was a good color too. She was so happy when the day arrived she couldn't quit jumping around. So, we found some errands to run all morning to distract ourselves from the up coming fun that afternoon. One errand was to get Lindsay's special balloon. (I didn't realize the dollar store had them until now, they actually had a few different ones to chose from.) We then made sure we had enough bubbles for everyone and then went home to frost the cake. Lindsay was excited for this because she got to add the sprinkles. She hand selected these sprinkles from the bakery. She had a fun time at her party and was so happy when all of her friends came! It was the part of the party she wanted the most! She also did a very good job saying Thank You for all of her wonderful presents. She has already played with/ read all of them! She has been busy! Here is just a couple of random pics from the afternoon. Thank you for everyone who came and celebrated with Lindsay. We had a great time having you at our home!

Since her party, She has now asked for a Dog.............It might not happen for a while!

What a face!

I don't know how to describe this face. This face is made when he is mad, if you take something away from him, he doesn't get his way, and sometimes when he is really excited. This is the first time I have been able to capture this face in a photo. It is not very becoming, but it is his face and I love it! I wouldn't change his face for anything!

A Trip to the Zoo

We had the opportunity to go to the zoo last weekend. We also had the opportunity to have some great company come with us. We loved the animals we saw and the fun we had! Here are few pictures of our day.

Aren't They Pretty?

I love when the Rose Garden is in full bloom. It is a nice, peaceful time to walk and see all the beautiful plants. The roses are amazing and pictures can't even do them justice. I love the variety of colors and sizes. I just love flowers!

I thought the Rose Tree was really interesting. I hadn't seen one before!

Out to the Lake

Today we went to Wagon Train Lake with playgroup. I had never been there before and I was really impressed with the good upkeep of the beach. Lindsay was in her element. She only came out of the water to scoop up sand to take back in the water, except for once and that's when she was so hungry she quickly ate her sandwich and headed back to the water for more fun!

Matthew was a little trooper. He enjoyed his first time swimming in a lake. He loved it so much he tried to eat all the sand and drink all the water! After playing hard for a while, he settled into the stroller for lunch and a nap the rest of the afternoon.

Weekend Trip

This past weekend we traveled to Hershey, NE to attend Jordan's graduation. We were able to support Jordan and give him many congrats, along with spending time with lots of family. We had a lot of fun this weekend. We played with cousins, spent hours talking to family, and wish Mom a Happy Mother's Day in person.

This is a video of Jeff feeding Matthew part of a banana on the drive home. Matthew expressions are priceless. (also, Matthew was not starving he does this with all food as if it is the last of food altogether, this was actually that last few bites of the whole banana that he ate.)

Mahoney State Park

Today was such a beautiful day that we just had to go to the park. One of our favorites is Mahoney. Lindsay loves the observation tower that overlooks the Platte River. She will run up and down the stairs as fearless as can be. She must get it from Joe because I was clinching the hand reel on the way up and down! We also love visiting the conservatory and looking at the amazing flowers inside. They also have very nice walking trails, which are always fun!
